I am a British born, New Zealand-based artist working out of the beautiful Taranaki region. While studying Fine Art at Falmouth University I experimented with multiple mediums. After University I spent a number of years travelling and used this time to soak up cultural inspiration from everywhere I visited.
The artwork of the places I visited made me long to be making art again. Once I found myself settled in Taranaki New Zealand I felt it was the right time for me to start creating once more.
Starting out again with an Apple Pencil and an iPad, a very portable method of creating for someone living a backpacker lifestyle, the more I have settled the more my practice has expanded once more into oil pastels, soft pastels, pencils.
This doesn't mean I have settled in terms of my art. Subject matter has always been wide-ranging for me and sometimes I can't work out why I choose to make art about the things I do. Mostly it's texture or colour-based rather than being something specific to the subject.
